" of them will fly close cover, the others will fly attacks in front of the main raid, because we don't know, how much enemies we have to await in the air around Iwo. Dismiss! Much Luck! German: Landung auf Iwo Jima 19.02.1945 11:00 Es ist soweit! Iwo soll eingenommen werden. Hierzu werden 2 Gruppen F4U starten um die auf dem Vulkan angesiedelten Artilleriestellungen dem Erdboden gleich machen, bevor die Truppentransporter die Kueste erreichen. Begleitet werden sie von 4 Gruppen F6F, wovon 2 engen Begleitschutz und die beiden anderen Vorausangriffe fliegen, da vollkommen unbekannt ist, wie es mit der Luftverteidigung der Japaner aussieht.
