The captain of the Yamato got the order to start operation "Ten Ischigo". From Kure the Yamato takes course to Okinawy which was 700 SM away, and which awaits shortly the invasion by the Americans.
Escorted by a light cruiser and eight destroyers the Yamato meets the US fleet with more than 1,500 ships.
